DBT Credentialing (Pathway 1) for Qualified Mental Health Professionals!
Pathway 1 Entry Requirements
This Australian DBT Institute pathway to DBT Credentialing program is open to qualified psychologists, social workers, mental health nurses, mental health OTs, psychotherapists, counsellors, and MDs who have not yet completed a DBT Comprehensive or DBT Intensive Training Program. This program is best completed with your colleagues in a team of 3 or more! Although many practitioners have chosen to complete this program independent of their teams!
Be a qualified mental health professional
Have a commitment to apply a DBT or DBT Informed approach in your clinical practice during the program (DBT Assist, through the Australian DBT Institute, is available for clinicians not currently employed in a workplace where they are able to apply a DBT or DBT informed approach)
Complete a DBT Foundations Training in person or online
DBT Comprehensive Online Option

Melbourne Comprehensive Training
Commences on the 27th - 29th October 2022
Singapore Comprehensive Training
NEXT Program Commences 11 - 13th March 2023
Sydney Comprehensive Training
NEXT Program Commences 30th March - 1 April 2023
Commitment required of participants
Complete Education Component: (Choose either online or in-person in the Gold Coast, Sydney, Singapore, Melbourne or online in 2022/3)
Implement a DBT or DBT Informed Approach within 2 months of commencing our programs
Present an individual client application of DBT (20 minute presentation online or in person on the Gold Coast, Sydney, Singapore, Melbourne or online)
Present your DBT Approach (20 minute presentation online or in person on the Gold Coast, Sydney, Singapore, Melbourne or online)
A range of DBT resources and professional development opportunities are available participants seeking DBT Credentialing through pathway 1. Resources are accessible on an ongoing basis through the CMHE Academy website.
In person or online delivery
Online content or in-person delivery with the Australian DBT Institute's senior facilitators to support your DBT Credentialing pathway and application of DBT over 10-12 months! Group Zoom sessions include in the online and face to face development programs.
Telehealth DBT Programs
Credentialing requires participants to be applying DBT in their clinical practice. If you do not have access to a clinical opportunity to apply your skills the Australian DBT Institute's Telehealth service DBT Assist can support qualified mental health with credentialing.
Presentations (Online or in-person)
The Australian Institute's DBT Credentialing program, requires participants to develop and provide two presentations. One presentation is required of an individual client application of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and the other of the participant's overall application of DBT.
